Course Overview
The goal of the summit is to foster collaboration, share best practices and provide a forum for peer-to-peer interaction among Advanced Practice Providers (APP) in clinical practice who are actively engaged in the care of oncology patients.  This summit will provide APP learners a broad overview of the latest developments and important current concepts in the multidisciplinary treatment of oncology patients.  Additionally, the summit offers an intimate learning environment to facilitate interaction between learners and faculty so that clinicians can discuss practical patient management issues and then apply their learning once they return to practice.

Intended Learners
Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Oncology Pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of oncology patients.

Summit Learning Objectives

1. Explain guideline and best practice recommendations for the treatment of various hematologic and non-hematologic malignancies

2. Select appropriate treatment regimens to maximize tumor response and minimize adverse reactions

3. Identify pre-treatment cardiovascular risk and manage cardiotoxic side effects in patients with cancer and in cancer survivors to reduce cardiovascular complications

4. Review evidence-based recommendations for incorporating palliative care into standard oncology care

5. Formulate a management strategy for addressing sexual health issues in patients with cancer to improve their physical, emotional and social well-being

6. Outline the requirements for implementing an institutional survivorship care plan

7. Define oncologic emergencies and explain management strategies that reduce morbidity and mortality

8. Discuss the expected and unexpected costs of cancer care with patients to enhance patient understanding and inform shared-decision making
